Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using kualia.ai (the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may accept these Terms for it. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. The service

kualia.ai helps you teach simulated robots new skills. You choose a built-in MuJoCo robot or upload your own model (MJCF or URDF), describe a skill in plain language, and the Platform's AI assistant writes a training task: task code, reward, success and termination rules, and an optional world with objects such as balls, boxes, steps or goals. The Platform checks the task automatically, trains a policy with reinforcement learning on our servers, shows recorded and live rollouts in your browser, reviews results, and lets you export the trained policy as an ONNX file.

3. Accounts

You need an account to use the Studio. Sign-in is provided by Clerk. You must be at least 16 years old, give accurate information, and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that break these Terms or put the Platform or other users at risk.

4. Credits, plans and refunds

• Generating and changing tasks with alia, analysing runs and training policies consume credits. The Studio shows the price of an action before you start it; current prices are on the pricing page.
• If a training run fails because of an error on our side or in the task, its training credits are returned automatically. Runs you stop yourself, and runs that complete but do not learn the skill, are not refunded.
• Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and are only usable on the Platform. Plan allowances and purchase options are described on the pricing page and may change with notice.
• Where paid plans or credit purchases are offered, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor; we do not store full card details.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Platform for anything unlawful, or to develop systems intended to harm people, including weapons;
• upload robot models, meshes or text you do not have the right to use, or that contain malware;
• try to escape the training sandbox, access other users' data, or probe, overload or disrupt our infrastructure;
• scrape the Platform, circumvent rate limits or credit accounting, or resell access without permission;
• use alia to produce abusive or infringing content.

Task code generated or edited on the Platform runs in an isolated sandbox and is checked automatically before training; we may block code or runs that look unsafe.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you bring and make: uploaded robot models and assets, your skill briefs and chat messages, the task code and versions created for you, training results, and trained policies and exports.

You give kualia.ai a limited licence to store, copy, run and display that content only to provide and secure the Platform for you (for example to run training, render videos and show the 3D simulator). We do not sell your content and do not publish it. Platform IP — the software, design, documentation and brand — remains ours.

7. AI-generated output

Task code, rewards, world layouts, analyses and suggestions are produced by AI models and are provided "as is". They can be wrong: a reward can be exploited, a success check can be too easy, a world can be arranged differently from what you meant. Automated checks reduce but do not eliminate these problems. Review the plan, the code and the results before relying on them.

8. Simulation and real robots

Policies are trained and evaluated in physics simulation. Real hardware differs — in friction, mass, latency, sensor noise and motor limits — and a policy that works in simulation may behave unexpectedly, violently or unsafely on a real robot. You are solely responsible for deploying exported policies: test in a safe setting, start at low power, keep people clear, use joint and torque limits and an emergency stop, and comply with applicable safety rules. kualia.ai is not liable for damage or injury caused by running policies on physical systems.

9. Third-party services

The Platform relies on third parties, including Clerk (sign-in), AI model providers that process briefs, chat messages and task code, Hetzner (hosting in Germany), Cloudflare (network and security) and Resend (email). Their services are governed by their own terms. The Privacy Policy lists what data they receive.

10. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Training queues, AI providers or maintenance can delay or interrupt work. We may add, change or remove features; if we make a change that materially reduces a paid service, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible. We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced on the Platform or by email, and continued use means you accept them.

11. Disclaimers and liability

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or that a policy will learn a skill. To the maximum extent permitted by law, kualia.ai is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or hardware. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Platform and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms. After termination your right to use the Platform ends; we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy, except what we must keep by law. Export any policies you want to keep before closing your account.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts or, where agreed, by binding arbitration. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
