Common questions

How long does a first training run take?+

A 10K-step first try on a small robot finishes in a few minutes on our CPU servers. Real skills need more practice: a reaching arm learns in ~100K–300K steps, a walking duck in a few million. Every run shows a live estimate.

What does a run cost?+

Practice runs cost $0.10 per 1K steps; building a task with alia costs a few cents. A failed run is refunded automatically. Every paid plan includes monthly credits and you can add a credit pack any time.

Can I use my own robot?+

Yes. Upload an MJCF or URDF (with meshes) under Robots. kualia checks it loads in MuJoCo, that every joint has an actuator and that the model does not fall through the floor, then it appears next to the built-in robots.

How do I run the trained policy on hardware?+

Export gives you a deterministic ONNX file with observation normalisation baked in, plus metadata describing the observation and action layout. The Export stage shows a Python snippet for onnxruntime.

Why is a robot marked “Preview · sim only”?+

Big robots (Unitree G1, Spot, Panda) need GPU-scale training for a real gait. On kualia today you can plan tasks and run short capped tries with them; join the GPU waitlist in the Studio to hear when full runs open.

Do you offer invoices, classroom seats or purchase orders?+

Yes — write to us with the billing topic below and we set it up by hand.
